Full title: Inquiry Into Section 73.1910 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations Concerning Alternatives to the General Fairness Doctrine Obligations of Broadcast Licensees, 102 FCC 2d 145 (1985) aka the "Fairness Report." The FCC Fairness Doctrine, introduced in 1949, required the holders of broadcast licenses to both present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was, in the Commission's view, honest, equitable and balanced. The 1985 Fairness Report was the basis under which the Reagan Administration eliminated the FCC "Fairness Doctrine."
